About Us

MENDRY

What We Are

Mendry is a veteran-first education and outcomes platform. We spotlight two-hat Osteopathic Physicians (DOs)—clinicians who, in separate state-law visits, can advise on medical cannabis as Medical Cannabis Care Managers (MCCMs), and who, in VA Community Care visits, document safety counseling, functional outcomes, and CUD screens that flow back to VA. The result: fewer blind spots, earlier risk detection, and better data—without VA recommending or paying for cannabis.

MENDRY

What We Are Not

We’re not a dispensary, not a tele-cert mill, and not a placement/referral service. We don’t give dosing or product advice on this site, and we don’t collect PHI.

Why Mendry Exists

Mendry is a 501(c)(3) education and outcomes nonprofit. We help veterans find and evaluate licensed clinicians, understand VA Community Care, and use function-first measurements—such as sleep continuity, pain interference, and daytime alertness—to make safer, more intelligent decisions. We don’t sell products or provide medical advice on this site.

Why Provider Two-Hat DO/MCCM Matters

Safety + continuity

CCN documentation (sleep minutes, pain interference, adverse events, counseling delivered) lands in the VA chart—helping your VA team coordinate care.

Better data, zero hype

Clinics can roll up de-identified monthly aggregates (no PHI, no brands) to show where benefits and harms cluster, including CUD trends.

Veteran confidence:

VA encourages discussion of cannabis use; benefits aren’t at risk for disclosure.

CCN Basics (Explainer)

How Community Care works
When access standards trigger or services aren’t available at your VA, VA can authorize care with a community clinician through CCN. The clinician sends documentation back to VA so your plan stays coherent. Cannabis itself isn’t a VA-paid benefit; safety and function still get documented so your VA team can act on what matters (medication interactions, therapy timing, adverse events).

Pro tip: Bring a one-page “goals card” to both visits—VA and community—with two functional targets and your reassessment date.

The Veteran Safety Sheet (highlights)

  • No driving or operating machinery while impaired.

  • Extra caution with benzodiazepines, sleep meds, and alcohol.

  • Lock storage; keep away from kids/pets.
  • If you’re in trauma-focused therapy, avoid pre-session intoxication.
  • Know early signs of CUD (using more than intended, failed cut-downs, role impairment, craving); ask your clinician about CBT/MET or contingency management if concerns arise.

Provider Directory Standards

Every provider listed on Mendry.org must:

1. Verify an active license.

2. Respect and follow state cannabis laws.

3. Commit to Mendry’s veteran-first principles.

Our directory is regularly updated to give veterans accurate, reliable connections.

Governance and Guardrails

Transparency and compliance are built into Mendry’s structure:

  • Board of Directors with veterans, medical professionals, and compliance experts.

  • An Advisory Panel that includes providers, nonprofit leaders, and legal experts.

  • Published Disclaimers: No medical advice, no PHI handling, no product endorsements.

By making governance clear, we reduce risk for providers, sponsors, and the patients we serve.

Micro-FAQ

Does Mendry connect me with a doctor?

No. We provide education and an informational directory to help you compare options.

No. VA encourages honest discussion about use. VA doesn’t recommend or pay for cannabis.
Yes—in a separate, non-VA state-law encounter where permitted. As a CCN clinician, the same DO documents safety and function back to VA without recommending cannabis.
