Free Veteran Service
The Mendry Copay Relief Fund helps eligible veterans cover the cost of visits to two-hat providers in the Mendry network. State-licensed medical cannabis evaluation visits typically operate cash-pay, outside insurance coverage. The Fund exists to remove that financial barrier — so that cost is not the reason a veteran who needs this care doesn’t get it.
Grants from the Fund are paid directly to the Mendry-network provider, not to the veteran. This structure keeps Mendry outside the clinical billing relationship and protects the integrity of the grant program. Eligibility is based on financial need and veteran status. Approval does not require a commitment to medical cannabis use, a specific clinical pathway, or clinical information that Mendry should not be holding. Read more about Mendry or learn how the Fund is sustained on our Sponsors page.
Veterans apply through a simple online form. The application asks for basic eligibility information — veteran status, financial situation establishing need, and the Mendry-network provider the veteran intends to see. Applications are reviewed against published eligibility criteria. Approval timelines are short. Grant funds are paid directly to the provider after the visit is confirmed.
You choose your own Mendry-verified provider. The Fund never steers veterans to specific clinics or clinicians.
Veterans arrive at clinical appointments better prepared. Providers are equipped to document safety and function clearly within both VA and state-law frameworks.
Grant funds are paid directly to the Mendry-network provider — never to the veteran — protecting the integrity of the program.
Approval requires no commitment to cannabis use and no clinical information beyond what is necessary to confirm provider eligibility.
The Copay Relief Fund operates on an annual funding cycle. Assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible veterans who meet program requirements. Once the annual allocation is fully committed, the program closes until the next cycle. Program status is updated on the Mendry website and applicants are notified promptly if funding is exhausted. Veterans are encouraged to apply as early in the program year as possible and before scheduling non-emergency visits.

Upload your visit confirmation and provider invoice within 30 days of your visit date. If confirmed, Mendry pays the provider directly upon receipt of the itemized invoice. Every grant payment is documented and reported in Mendry’s 501(c)(3) financial filings.
Veteran status (U.S. military veterans; authorized family caregivers in limited circumstances). Intent to see a verified Mendry-network provider. Demonstrated financial need assessed through our confidential application. Specific income thresholds and need criteria are published on the application page and reviewed periodically. Veterans whose situation falls just above published thresholds but who face exceptional circumstances may include those circumstances in the application.
For your application, submit one of the following as proof of veteran status: DD Form 214, VA Health Benefits card, Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC), state-issued veteran driver’s license or ID, or VA benefits award letter. Provide basic financial information to establish need and identify the Mendry-network provider you intend to visit.
After your visit, upload the provider’s itemized invoice showing the visit cost and your name. All documents must be submitted as PDF, JPG, or PNG, maximum 10 MB per file. Documents are encrypted and used only for grant administration.
